The Harborside Inn Of Boston offers 98 guestrooms in an eight-story granite building built as a warehouse in 1858 and converted to a hotel in 1997. Rooms face either a sky-lighted, eight-story interior atrium or the city. Decor and furnishings feature original brick walls with sage or blue walls opposite, white-colored wood trim, hardwood floors with Turkish rugs, brass light fixtures, and Federal-style cherrywood furniture. Driving directions from Logan International Airport: Exit the airport for Boston via the Ted Williams Tunnel. Take the Route 93 North exit when in the Ted Williams Tunnel. Proceed on Route 93 through another tunnel, then take Exit 23 (Government Center) out from the tunnel. Stay to the left, follow signs for Aquarium/Waterfront area. This will loop you around past Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market, and onto Atlantic Avenue (Surface Artery Road). Follow signs for the Aquarium. State Street is about 3 blocks ahead on the right. Turn right onto State Street. The Harborside Inn of Boston is on the left, in the middle bay of large granite facade building.
Getting there: Taxis cost $20-$30 from the airport to the hotel. A shuttle service ($5-$15) connects the airport to local hotels. From a station at the airport (part of the Boston area's MBTA public-transportation system of subways, trains, and buses called the "T"), the Blue Line subway ($1.25) operates to the Aquarium Station adjacent to the hotel. (Exit station to State Street.)
