This Hyatt Place has dropped the traditional lobby and front desk in favor of a contemporary open area called the Gallery, with a check-in kiosk and the expertise of a host, who is available to help with check-in, guest tours, and even food preparation, 24 hours a day.
The Gallery area houses the Bakery Café, which includes a coffee and wine bar and a 24-hour touch-screen kiosk for ordering freshly prepared hot and cold items; guests pay by swiping either room key or credit card. A self-help case of baked goods, salads, sandwiches, and drinks is also available 24 hours; a complimentary Continental breakfast with Starbucks coffee is served each morning.
Among complimentary amenities are use of the TV room with its 27-inch flat-panel screen and seating for four, use of a computer with high-speed Internet access and a printer, all in the Gallery area; and hotel-wide wireless Internet access.

42-inch, flat-panel, high-definition TVs allow guests to plug in laptops, MP3 players, and DVD players. Satellite channels include 11 channels of high-definition programming and SportsNet. Both wireless and wired high-speed Internet access are complimentary; one of the two telephones is cordless.

Rental cars and taxis are commonly used to travel from the airport to the hotel. Also, a local shuttle stops at the hotel and will take guests to the Orange Line subway (known locally as the “T”) stop. The subway travels to downtown Boston and the airport.
The hotel provides limited free transportation in the local area and garage parking. During summer months, the Old Town Trolley transports guests into Boston. A local shuttle stops at the hotel and will take guests to the Orange Line subway, which stops at Tufts University and downtown Boston. Driving in downtown Boston is challenging for locals, let alone travelers unfamiliar with the random street system and congestion. Drivers are advised to take along a good street map, or better yet, rely on the city’s well-developed transit system of buses, trolleys, and subways.
